Embracing the Spirit of Place: Bihai Yinhu by Weimo Feng

Award-Winning Design Merges Architecture with Poetry and Emotion

The project is situated on a scarce urban plot of land, the nature of which defines its character and essence. Feng's design is not just a building, but a "place" where people and their environment interact emotionally. The spatial language, with a strong sense of sequence, speaks to people, creating an atmosphere of divine elegance.

Feng's inspiration for Bihai Yinhu is rooted in the "spirit of place" in architectural phenomenology. The designer envisioned a space where people live poetically, with a vision of poetry and distant places. This design philosophy is evident in the high harmony between the interior and exterior of the building, ensuring the integrity of the project.

The unique properties of Bihai Yinhu lie in its design and implementation. From the interior hard furnishings to the interior soft furnishings, everything is in high harmony with the building. The materials used, including wooden fossil, aluminum plate, Arsenal gray, aluminum plate transfer wood grain, acrylic, and terrazzo, contribute to the project's unique character.

The design incorporates Gaussian coordinate lines as a prototype, replacing sharp corners with gentle curved corners. This mathematical beauty is integrated into the design, with the ceiling array shape combined with line lighting to enhance the sense of sequence in the space. Boldly chosen "Klein Blue" reflects the ultimate pure atmosphere.

The project, which started in November 2019 in Jiangmen and finished in June 2020 in Guangdong, faced several design challenges. These included breaking through the limited space in the traditional store, dealing with the relationship between storey height and vacant space, and creating a high-quality, situational experience on the basis of modern. The main challenge in construction was the production of special-shaped metal.

Bihai Yinhu is more than a sales center. It is a resort area with exhibition, restaurant, spa, and cinema, full of quiet, sacred, and peaceful ambiance. This design by Weimo Feng was awarded Golden in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2021, reflecting the designer's prodigy and wisdom.
